Willow

After nearly 1 year of being available for adoption, Willow has finally found a forever home! Her forever home allows her to be an only ferret and gives her run of the entire house! She loves to hang out with the resident dog and steal her new mum's socks. Fortunately for Willow, her foster home wound up being her forever home, so she already feels perfectly at home there!

Allee and Abbee

Allee and Abbee have found a wonderful forever home! Their new family tells us that they fit in just perfectly and get along wonderfully with their existing pets. Allee and Abbee, they tell us, complete their family and they are thrilled with how quickly the two girls settled in and how rapidly they picked up on the idea that they were to return to their cage to use their litter. We are really happy to see Allee and Abbee with their loving family.

Herman and George

Have found a loving home. They are happy to play in the snow covered ferret run, dig in the deep dig box and cuddle with their ferret and human family. Herman begs for treats all the time, and has a beautiful winter coat. George has learned that cuddles come in dozens when he wants them, but playing outside is also FUN!!!

Misha and Kael

These two were initially surrendered due to allergies and ended up back in our care when their new ferrents separated. Now, they have found a more stable home, and what is more - a FAMILY! Kael loves to hang out with her new human sister and startle her new mother by climbing up next to her at the computer and staring until she gets a reaction! Misha is always up for a cuddle and is quite happy stashing her new family's stuffed animals =)

Bratlee

Bratlee was surrendered when his former owners had to move and he was not welcome in their new home. He was adopted out immediately, but then returned to the society due to behaviour and social problems. Bratlee does not like change much and tends to react strongly to it. His foster family worked with him on his behaviour problems, but found that though he would appear to be settling in and getting over his issues (and enjoying adventures, being nice to guests and being social on outings), any changes in the foster family's life would cause him to react negatively. Because he is such a sweet ferret most of the time, and his foster family knows when he will act out and how to minimize his outbursts, they have decided to keep him.

Andy and Dutch

Andy and Dutchess were surrendered when their owners had to move and could no longer keep them. These two were adopted before even becoming available by someone on our "ferret waiting list" who was interested in adopting some older ferrets as her first ferrets. She is thrilled to have them as part of her life and spoils them rotten.

Spice

Spice came to Ferrets North Information and Rescue Society as part of a group of eight ferrets. Like the others, she was suffering from dehydration malnourishment but, unlike most of the ferrets that she was surrendered with, she did not have many social problems. A friend of the foster family was quickly charmed by Spice's curious and playful nature and, before Spice was officially available for adoption, had filled out an application form and begun preparing to add Spice to her life. Not surprisingly, Spice fits in well with her new family and LOVES running amok in her new home. She plays with her new found cat friends and even likes playing with her forever home's large dog. She adores her new family, and they love to spoil her rotten!

Sugar and Dakota

Sugar and Dakota were two of a group of eight ferrets that were rescued from 100 mile house. When they came into our care, they were malnourished and had some behavioral issues. Once these issues were worked out by their foster family, the ferrets were made available for adoption and found a new home.

Dakota and Sugar get along with other animals and fit in rather well with their new family's clan of pets which includes two other ferrets, a few dogs and some cats - Sugar has even taken to hanging out with (and likely harassing) the family's Great Dane! The large dog not only allows the ferrets to share his mat, he lets them climb all over him and even chew his ears!

Jethro

Jethro was surrendered to Ferrets North Information and Rescue Society at the young age of three months. His previous owners had bought him as a first pet for their six year old son; not surprisingly, things didn't work out. At the time on his surrender, Jethro had quite a nipping problem due to a lack of socialization and, when he arrived in his foster home he introduced himself to his foster mom by sneaking up on her and nipping her on the nose. Jethro's foster family worked with him on his nipping. After a few short weeks he and his foster dad become inseparable and his foster family just had to adopt him. Jethro loves going on adventures to the park with his new family and other ferret friends and welcoming the new ferrets that his family fosters.

Casper

Casper, formerly Cooper, was surrendered to the society after his previous owner had learned that she was not allowed to keep him in her apartment building. Casper was in decent health, though he was suffering from a prolapsed rectum which cleared up once the hair that he had ingested was out of his system. Casper was not even 3 years old and had been re-homed four times already, likely due to his rather energetic disposition, and he IS a handful! Because he had been rehomed so many times already in his short life and he got along well with the foster families resident dog, cats and ferrets, his foster family chose to adopt him. Casper has settled in to his new home quite well and enjoys the numerous snuggles and walks that he receives from his new family.

Orphelia

Orphelia was surrendered with eight other ferrets; circumstances had changed and her owner could not longer cope with the demands of such a large group of ferrets. Orphelia, like the other ferrets that she was surrendered with, was suffering from malnutrition and lacking in muscle tone. She was also afraid of men and would nip them when she got the opportunity. Despite her sorry state, it did not take long for Orphelia to win her foster mom's heart and bond with a previously outcast ferret in her new foster home. Orphelia's foster home soon became her forever home and her new family is helping her get over her fear of men.

Cooper

Cooper was rescued from a family who suspected that he was sick but did not want to spend the money to have a vet check him over. His former family was ready to put him down when the society offered to take Cooper off of their hands. Cooper, as it turned out, was not ill; he was suffering from an enlarged spleen which cleared up once garlic was taken out of his diet (his former family had been adding garlic to his diet in a misguided attempt to prevent fleas). Cooper was adopted by a family who loves older ferrets for their cuddliness, and Cooper fit in perfectly with their existing ferret troop. He is now quite happy, healthy and fat, enjoying tons of run time, cuddles, and an extra large ferret room for those rare times when he and his ferret friends cannot be out ransacking the house.
